OKLAHOMA CITY — Applications are open for Fund for Teachers fellowships, which give Oklahoma educators who teach pre-K through 12th grade the opportunity to pursue self-designed professional learning.

Margaret Campbell Cowley, a beloved matriarch, was born on Nov. 15, 1931 in Canyon, Texas, to Sherman Campbell and Norene Gray Campbell. Her life was a tapestry of love, family, cherished moments and a strong sense of community.

Funeral services for Dollie (McKinley) Mays, of Oklahoma City, formerly of the Gay Community, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 14, 2023 at the Antioch Baptist Church of Gay, Okla. Dollie passed away Oct. 30, 2023, at the age of 83. Dollie was born Aug. 9, 1940.

November is National Family Caregivers Month. There are more than 11 million family caregivers in the U.S and nearly half of these caregivers provide help to someone with Alzheimer’s or another dementia. Here in Oklahoma, there are 135,000 caregivers who provided 164 million hours of unpaid care valued at more than $2.6 billion.

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has issued an alert to taxpayers, encouraging them to adjust their 2024 withholding so as to either avoid effectively giving the government an interestfree loan of their money or face the prospect of penalties and interest if too little tax is withheld.
