CHLOE CLEMENTS (LEFT), an eighth grader at Valliant Middle School, was recently selected to serve on the Special Olympics State Youth Activation Committee. The State YAC is a group of youth composed of members with and without intellectual disabilities from across the state.

Thursday is looking like the best day of the week with sunshine and 85 degrees, but then a cold front is going to bring a chance of a thunderstorm on Friday. High temperatures will only be in the low 60s on Saturday and by Monday, we may get stuck in the low 50s in the afternoon. Sunday is definitely looking like the best day of the weekend for outdoor activities.

You can spend your whole life looking, but perfection is not something you’ll find in politics. We might argue the same point for everything else on the planet, unless we are on our knees in church having a conversation with the only Perfect One.

THE HUGO BAND booster club recently held a raffle to give away a spirit basket. The drawing was held on Oct. 9 at the Homecoming game. The winner was Sharon Wesley (center). She is pictured with band booster James Cochnauer and Joseph Beck, a freshman who is in the percussion section of the band.
