Friday last day to register for April 6 election

Friday, March 12, is the last day to apply for voter registration in order to be eligible to vote in the April 6 school board, municipal and special Choctaw County commissioner election. Persons who are United States Citizens, residents of Oklahoma, and at least 17.5 old are eligible to apply for voter registration, however, you must be at least 18 years old to vote.

Part One The 2021 basketball playoffs have once again activated my nostalgia, and nostalgia is like a good grammar lesson — it can make the present, “tense” or the past, “perfect.” Growing up in Hugo in the 1950s and 60s I thought there wasn’t a more “perfect” place to be. OKLAHOMA CITY –– Deputy Commissioner Keith Reed issued the following statement regarding Oklahoma reaching over one million total doses of the COVID-19 vaccine administered: “This is an extraordinary milestone for our state –– more than one million doses of this life-saving vaccine have been administered to Oklahomans. It is reassuring to see this progress made, but we know the job isn’t done until we have provided the vaccine to every Oklahoman who needs it.
