Kennedy’s polling numbers challenge Biden’s in new poll

A recent Economist/YouGov poll shows Robert F. Kennedy Jr. with a significantly higher favorability rating than President Joe Biden. The survey found 49% of respondents expressed a positive view of Kennedy, while 30% held an unfavorable opinion of him, giving Kennedy a net favorable rating of 19 points. Biden on the other hand holds a favorability rating of -11 points.

The Ombudsman program advocates for residents of nursing homes, board and care homes, and assisted living facilities. Ombudsman programs work to resolve problems individual residents face and effect change at the local, state and national levels to improve quality of life and care. Ombudsmen provide information about how to find a facility and what to do to get quality care. Whether through individual contact with residents or systemic advocacy, ombudsmen make a difference in the lives of residents in long-term care facilities every day.

Max Bryan “Turk” Robinson

Max Bryan “Turk” Robinson, a true embodiment of rugged masculinity and a living Marlboro Man, passed away July 5, 2023, at the age of 91. Turk was born Dec. 8, 1931 to Dudley and Vannie Elizabeth Fennel in Messer, Okla. He married the love of his life, Verna Chappell Robinson in 1969. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Roman Todd. Turk is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Verna, and a host of nieces and nephews who cherished him deeply. A celebration of life was held to honor Turk’s remarkable journey and his unwavering faith in the Lord at 2 p.m. July 11, 2023 at the Hugo Agriplex. Friends and family were invited to attend and join Verna and the rest of the family in celebrating Turk’s life by sharing fond memories and stories that reflect the joy he brought into the world.

Janis Earlene Wheeler Cleveland Bates passed from this life on July 8, 2023, after a long illness from COPD. Janis Earlene Wheeler was born in Darwin, Okla., on Sept. 19, 1939, to Frances and Bart Wheeler. She was the fourth of four daughters and preceded in death by her mother and father; two sisters: Bertha Lee Smith and Lou Jean Shelby, and a son, Paul Anthony (Tony) Cleveland. She is survived by a sister, Barbara Morris and four children: Monica Jan Thames, Robert Barton Cleveland, Thomas Scott Cleveland and Bradley Stephen Cleveland; nine grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Jack Frost were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023 at Clayton Avenue Baptist Church, 210 N. H St. in Hugo, Okla., with Dr. Deaton officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Jack passed away Friday, July 7, 2023, in Paris, Texas, at the age of 82.
