Linda Smith

Funeral services for Linda Smith, of Valliant, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Valliant Church of God. Linda passed away July 4, 2022, at the age of 75.

Linda Carolyn (Spencer) Smith was born on Aug. 21, 1946 in Bonham, Texas, to Ard Spencer and Inez Malone. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Glen Smith; daughter, Theresa Lynn Smith; sisters: Sadie Nation, Bonnie Harmon and Lula Mae Young.

Linda was a lifelong resident of the Valliant community. She married the love of her life, Glen Smith on Aug. 10, 1962 in Paris, Texas. Linda worked as a nurse’s aide and a homemaker. She loved the Lord and going to church was very important to her. Linda enjoyed getting to go fishing and spend time with her family. She really enjoyed just being “Mama.” Linda will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Linda is survived by her sons: Glen W. Smith and wife of Valliant, Paul Smith and wife of Idabel, Okla., Lane Smith and wife of Valliant; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Spencer of DeQueen, Ark., along with a host of other family friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Valliant Cemetery with Bro. Leon Tims officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
