Mary Chesolene (Ford) Thurman

Funeral services for Mary Chesolene (Ford) Thurman, of Fort Towson, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 12, 2023 at Spencerville Church in Spencerville, Okla. Mary passed away Jan. 8, 2023, at the age of 87.

Mary Chesolene (Ford) Thurman was born on Jan. 21, 1935 in Haworth, Okla., the daughter of Chester Wade Ford and Lydia (Bryant) Ford. She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Lloyd Wilkins; second husband, Marvin Thurman; son, Pete Wilkins; daughter, Mary Lou Wilkins; brother, Wendell Pitt; sister, Jo Ann Ford and two grandchildren.

Chesolene was a lifelong resident of the Oleta and Rattan area. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, painting and working in her yard.

Above all things, Chesolene loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She has left a void in their lives, and will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Chesolene is survived by her daughters: Melvadean Davis of Spencerville, Okla., and Leah Wilkins of Corinne, Okla.; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers: Edward Pitt and Lee Pitt; sisters: Margie Pratt and Doris Pitt, along with a host of family, friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Hugo.

Interment will follow the service at Cloudy Cemetery with Bro. Donnie Day officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
