Ambrose Chester Estep was born Sept. 14, 1933 in Ashville, Ohio, and passed away on Feb. 26, 2022. He was 88 years old.

He was the son of Haskell and Lucy Estep, who both preceded him in death. Also preceding him was his wife, Helen Louise Canter Estep and he shared a life together for 55 years; two sons: Joseph Estep and Robert Michael Estep; three sisters: Christine, Pauline, Geraldine and one brother, James Harold.

He is Survived by two sons: the Rev. James Estep and wife, Tajuana (Tee) of Tulsa, Okla., and the Rev. William Estep and wife, Katrina of Ninnekah, Okla.; two daughters: Karen Thiessen and husband, Howard of Broken Bow and Johnia Jordan and husband, Chad of Triangle, Va. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives. Chet, as he was called, was educated at Columbus Public Schools, where he spent the majority of his childhood. He was saved on Jan. 13, 1958 and was called to preach the gospel the same year. He began his studies at Circleville Bible College. Later he attended Central Texas College at Killeen, Texas, Mary-Hardin Baylor College at Belton, Texas, and Navarro College at Corsicana, Texas.

He joined the Church of God in 1960 and served as Pastor in Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Kentucky, Illinois, Arizona, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and Louisiana. He served as an Evangelist in various states and State Evangelist in Ohio and Pennsylvania. He also pioneered and organized several churches, and served as district overseer at various churches. He was an ordained Bishop in the Church of God.
