Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo. Becky Sue Green, 64, left her earthly dwelling to be with her Heavenly Lord on April 2, 2022, in her home after a lengthy illness in Hugo, surrounded by her husband and children by her side.

Becky Sue Green was born on July 13, 1957 in Hugo, Okla., to A.D. and Catherine (Taylor) Tucker. She grew up in Hugo and graduated from Hugo High School in 1975 then attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Durant, Okla. Her love for reading led her to study and receive a Bachelor’s in both Elementary Education and Reading in 1979, and a Master’s Degree in Language Arts in 1981. Becky started student teaching in 1979 at Eugene Field Elementary School, where she taught first and second grade reading. In 1982, she moved to the Hugo Junior High and taught seventh and eighth grade language arts, until she retired from teaching full-time in 1989. Her love for teaching never ended, and throughout the years she continued teaching and volunteering in her community. Becky married the love of her life, Don Green, on Dec. 19, 1987 at the Glad Tidings Baptist Church in Hugo. God blessed their marriage with two sons: Micah and Luke Green, and they raised their family in Hugo. Becky loved her family, and took such pride in being a good wife and mother. She loved game and movie nights with her family, and enjoyed going on many vacations, especially Branson, Mo., with her family and friends. Becky loved music, and was a talented piano player and singer. From 1990-1991, she taught a music class for the Early Childhood Center. For many years, she also gave many students piano lessons from her home. Her faith always played an important role in her life. She loved worshipping her Savior with her church family. She played the piano for many years at Glad Tidings Baptist Church and later at the First Baptist Church. She loved singing in church as well, and enjoyed singing in the trio group, Three for Thee, with Shelly Wilson and Patty Edge for many years. They traveled to different churches in Choctaw, Pushmataha and McCurtain Counties to lead others in worship. She loved her church family very dearly.

Over the years, Becky enjoyed many hobbies including traveling, playing games with friends and family, reading, music, collecting precious moments, watching college football, cooking, and most importantly spending time with family and friends. She loved hosting and having her family at home for the holidays. Becky was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Don Green of Hugo; two sons: Micah Green and wife, Paige of El Reno, Okla., and Luke Green and wife, Seaira of Tulsa, Okla.; grandchildren: Jade Elizabeth Green and Samuel David Green of El Reno; sister, Lisa Rife and husband, Mark of Hugo; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
