Blenda Sue (Wood) Branton completed her journey and went home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 13, 2022, at the age of 78. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 41 years, Jack Branton; brothers: Choice, Roy “Doodle,” Carol, Vernon, Billy and Jimmy; sisters: Wanda, Dorothy, Lavern and Mary; two grandsons and two fur babies.

Blenda was born in Casa Grande, Ariz., July 8, 1944, the daughter of George Roy Wood and Liza Jane “Janie” (Lake) Wood. She married Glenn Alvis “Jack” Branton on Jan. 4, 1960. They raised five children together and welcomed 13 granchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Blenda enjoyed the outdoors and all things nature. She loved animals and enjoyed watching wildlife in their natural environment. Blenda raised her children to appreciate and respect God’s creations. She taught them everything she knew about living a simple life and serving with a grateful heart. Blenda’s faith in God carried her through many challenges in her life and blessed her with a caring and loving attitude. She was an amazing mother and grandmother. Her greatest joy in this life was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Blenda will be missed beyond words.

Left to cherish precious memories are; children: David Branton of Sawyer, Okla., Marlon Branton of Tyler, Texas, Elette Carl and husband of San Antonio, Texas, Evette Livingston and husband of Powderly, Texas, Lalonda “Loni” Olsen and Daniel Serrenchia of North Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Burkett of Bogata, Texas; her best friend; her Baptist Village Family who cared for her with great love and compassion and her sweet fur baby.

Blenda requested that no services be held in her honor but that all who would have attended please spend time making precious memories with loved ones.
