Daisy Lamm Herd

Funeral services for Daisy Lamm Herd, of Sand Springs, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2022 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home. Daisy passed away June 12, 2022, at the age of 83.

Daisy Lamm Herd was born on April 1, 1939 in Wright City, Okla., to Alva and Vertie (Thompson) Lamm. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Jerry Herd.

After graduating from Wright City High School, she married Larry Barrington in 1958. They moved to Paris, Texas, where they had a son, Danny in 1959. A few years later, the family moved to Tulsa, Okla. In 1971, they adopted their daughter, Diane. They moved to Sand Springs, Okla., in 1980, where Daisy worked as a real estate agent for Terry Gartside Realtors. Daisy and Larry divorced in 1981. Daisy married Jerry Herd on June 4, 1990 in Las Vegas, Nev., her favorite vacation town. Jerry and Daisy retired to Swink in 2008. After Jerry’s passing in 2013, Daisy moved to Valliant to be near her friends. In December of 2021, Daisy moved back to Sand Springs to be around her family, who took care of her until her passing on June 12, 2022.

Daisy loved to dance and listen to live music. She loved people and being around people, talking, gossiping and laughing. Her favorite pastimes were shopping, gardening and going to the casino. She never met a stranger and was generous to all. She was quick with a smile and always ready to talk.

Daisy is survived by her son, Danny Barrington; daughter, Diane Palomba and husband; four granddaughters, three grandsons, 12 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Swink Cemetery, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
