Dorothy M. Harber (Green)
Dorothy Harber, aged 78, passed away at her home surrounded by family on May 24, 2024. She was born on May 7, 1946, the daughter of Robert Cleveland Green, Jr. and Dorothy Melda (Clements) Green in Oklahoma City, Okla. Dorothy’s life was marked by devotion to her family and a long-standing commitment to her community in Sulphur, Okla. Since 1980, she called Hugo home, where she enriched the lives of those around her.
Married to her beloved husband, Tommy since 1973, Dorothy shared a profound and loving partnership that stood as a testament to enduring affection and mutual respect. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Jimmy and Tresa. Her role as a grandmother to Amber and Zac and great-grandmother to Austin, Kolbi and Cruz, brought her immeasurable joy. These little ones were the light of her life, and her love for them was boundless. Dorothy’s memory will be forever held in the hearts of her family, including her devoted brother, Robert Cleveland Green III and her caring half-sister, Mary Jane Harris, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Professionally, Dorothy dedicated more than two decades to the compassionate service of others at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home, providing comfort in times of loss until her retirement in 2022. Previously, her entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly as she owned and operated a beauty shop for 23 years. Dorothy’s business acumen continued as she and Tommy managed Harbers in Sawyer, where their hard work and genuine care for customers were well known. A faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Dorothy contributed generously as a Sunday School teacher, shaping the spiritual foundation of countless individuals. Her talents extended beyond her vocation and service; she was an avid craftsperson, gardener, golfer, cook and outdoor enthusiast. Dorothy cherished the simple pleasures of life, whether it was a quiet afternoon tending to her garden or sharing stories around a campfire with family.
Dorothy’s legacy of love, kindness, and service will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed yet celebrated for a life so beautifully lived. Her memory will be cherished forever by Tommy, her children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and all who were fortunate to be part of her journey.
A service to honor Dorothy’s life was scheduled for for 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024, with the Rev. Jerry Mayfield and the Rev. Kyle Cummings officiating, under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
