Ella Summerville

Graveside services for Ella Summerville, of Boswell, Okla., were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2021 at Restland Cemetery in Boswell. Ella passed away Nov. 5, 2021, at the age of 78.

Ella Louise Summerville was born Feb. 26, 1943 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Ancel A. Davis, Sr. and Beatrice (Mays) Davis. She married Ronald Summerville on Feb. 12, 1960 in Dallas. He preceded her in death on March 17, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters: Alona Mercer and Betty Sims.

Ella worked at Mark’s Food Store in Boswell for 23 years. She had also worked at Wells Lamont Glove Factory in Hugo and in home health. She loved her flowers (no one touched her flowers or her trees!) and enjoyed taking care of the chickens with Ronald. Ella was the backbone of her family and was the strongest person they knew. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include: children, Ronnie Summerville and wife of Boswell, Robbie Summerville and wife of Boswell, Joy Guthrie and husband of Boswell and Roger Summerville and wife of Jones, Okla.; brother, Ancel Davis, Jr. of Boswell; sisters: Charlotte Hicks of Boswell, Barbara McKee of Boswell and Linda Austin of Hugo, Okla.; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Bro. Tim Harless officiated the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
