Services for Frank Heddleston, 93, of Lake Jackson, Texas, were held Monday, July 19 at the Miller & Miller Funeral Chapel in Hugo, Okla. Burial followed in the Fort Towson (Okla.) Cemetery. Frank passed away July 12, 2021.

Frank Marion Heddlesten was born on Nov. 27, 1927, in Calvin, Okla., to William “Bill” and Mary (Huskins) Heddlesten. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Deborah Heddlesten; stepson, Michael Tavenner, sister Doris Cooper and brother, Charles Heddlesten.

Frank was a proud World War II Veteran and served his country honorably in the United States Army. He loved being outside and worked for many years in oil exploration as a surveyor. Frank moved to Lake Jackson, Texas, where he was the owner and operator of Shady Oaks Auto Parts. He enjoyed feeding wildlife and working in his yard. Frank was a hard worker and “retired” at 85 years of age. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Frank is survived by his wife, Doris; sons: Brian Heddlesten of Lake Jackson, Texas and Troy Heddlesten of Round Rock, Texas; daughters: Trina Dee of Throndale, Texas, Fran Chandler, Bryan, Texas, Rhonda Heddlesten of Round Rock; stepdaughter, Cathy Tavenner of Lake Jackson, Texas; stepson, Lynn Tavenner of Lake Jackson; brother, Weldon Heddlesten of Fort Towson, Okla.; sisters: Yvonne Cooke of Fort Towson and Betty Heddlesten of Fort Towson; 12 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
