Jo Ann “Jody” Bruton

Memorial services for Jo Ann “Jody” Bruton, of Hugo, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 28, 2023 at Trinity Baptist Church in Messer, Okla. Jo Ann passed away Jan. 21, 2023, at the age of 93.

Jo Ann Bruton was born on Feb. 19, 1929, in Dewey, Okla., the daughter of Nolan A. Reed and Mattie (Straw). She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bruce Hostetler; first husband, Thomas Edwin Hostetler; second husband, Ben Bruton and sister, Wanda Lou Hollenbeck.

Jody was a resident of Hugo, Okla., for more than 17 years and a member of the First Baptist Church. She was a hard worker and truly had a servant’s heart. Jody enjoyed serving behind the scenes and was a dedicated prayer warrior. She loved to cook and enjoyed dancing. Jody always kept her yard in beautiful shape and enjoyed planting different kinds of plants around her home. Jody loved her family, but above all things she loved the Lord. Jody is survived by her sons: Leon Hostetler and wife, Sandi of Lakeside, Calif., and Jay Hostetler of Alpine, Calif.; daughter, Jody Griffith and husband, Robert of Messer, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two greatgreat-grandchildren and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Bro. Doug McClure and Pastor Leon Hostetler will officiate the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
