Funeral services for Lester M Orlanda Burns, of Boswell, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. Dec. 19, 2020 at New Life Family Church in Boswell. Lester passed away Dec. 14, 2020, at the age of 55.

Lester M Orlanda Burns was born on July 28, 1965 in McAlester, Okla., to Lester Raybon and Lavonne (Singleton) Burns. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, River Lane Burns.

Lester was raised in Choctaw County where he graduated from Boswell High School. He spent most of his life in the area. After graduation, Lester began work as a journeyman electrician and received his Oklahoma Journeyman license. He was a hard worker and a member of MEW since 1992. Lester was married to the mother of his children, Tracy Burns for 25 years. His pride and joy were his children, Hunter and Meagan, along with his farm. He considered them his greatest accomplishments in life. Lester’s favorite spot was sitting on his land that overlooked the Red River. His passions in life were his family, hunting, fishing and camping at the lake. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and cold beer.

Lester was a very loving and caring parent, full of energy, unorganized but a very, very wise man. His kids could count on him for advice and he will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Lester is survived by his son, Joshua Hunter Burns and wife of Purcell, Okla.; daughter, Meagan Raye Burns of Boswell; sister, LaDonna Angelly of Calera, Okla.; a granddaughter on the way, and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Restland Cemetery in Boswell with Bro. Chad Austin and Bro. Tim Harless officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
