Mary Jo Pierce

Funeral services for Mary Jo Pierce were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Boswel, Okla., with Jim Gentry officiating. Burial followed at Restland Cemetery in Boswell. Mary Jo went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 9, 2022 in Boswell, at the age of 95.

Mary Jo Pierce was born Aug. 5, 1926 to Odis and Emma (Thrasher) Smith, in Bennington, Okla. She married the love of her life, M.D. Pierce on Sept. 18, 1942. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and cooking. Mary Jo is preceded in death by her husband, M. D. Pierce; her parents, Odis and Emma Smith; and four siblings: Maydell Powell, Richard Smith, Sam Smith and Albert Smtih.

Mary Jo is survived by her son, Jerry Pierce and wife, Carolyn of Boswell; grandchildren: Janelle Pierce of Durant, Okla., Michael Pierce and wife, Shelia of Bennington, Okla., Joe Pierce and wife, Sydni of Durant, Kari Pierce of Durant, and Christy Thompson and husband, Jamie of White Hall, Texas; 12 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services were under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
