Funeral services for Nellie Wheeler, of Hugo, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14, 2022 at First Assembly of God in Hugo.

Nellie Lou (Parker) Wheeler was born on Dec. 1, 1937 in Goodland, Okla., to William F. Parker and Bessie B. (Cooper) Parker. She departed from this life on No. 10, 2022 in Sherman, Texas, at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles Wheeler; brothers: Grant Parker, Sanford Parker, Robert Parker, Charles Parker and Pete Parker; sisters: May Parker and Nora Whitaker.

Nellie was a life-long resident of Choctaw County. She married the love of her life, Frankie Wheeler on Dec. 11, 1959 in Hugo and they started their life together. Nellie worked at the glove factory in Hugo for many years, as well as a homemaker, loving wife and mother to her children. She loved sewing, quilting and cooking; the kitchen was considered her domain. Nellie enjoyed going to the family reunions and her favorite time of year was Christmas. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Nellie is survived by her loving husband, Frankie Wheeler; sons: Victor Smith and wife of Big Spring, Texas, and Frankie Lee Wheeler of Kingston, Okla.; daughters: Judy Thomas of Levelland, Texas, and Dianne Bell and husband of Rockford, Ill.; several grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one greatgreat-grandchild; sister, Dorothy Roberson of Hugo, along with a host of other friends, family and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Bro. Keithan Brown officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
