Celebration of Life services for Olene Adams were held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 21, 2021, at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, Okla. The Rev. Ron Tilley and the Rev. Leon McDow officiated the service, with burial following at Rufe Cemetery in Rufe, Okla. Olene went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 15, 2021, in Ashdown, Ark., at the age of 91.

Olene Adams was born May 6, 1930 to Van and Bessie (Stidham) Jenkins in Rufe. She had lived in this area all of her life and was raised in Rufe. She loved the Lord and was a member of the Pentecostal Church of God. Olene was a licensed minister and served the Lord at the Pentecostal Church of God in both Antlers and Hugo. In addition to ministry, Olene loved to go camping, enjoyed traveling with her grandchildren and just going places, and loved music.

She was always helping people, picking them up and taking them to church, giving food when there was a need, serving others.

Olene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leroy Adams; son, Lenus Adams in 2019; siblings: Ravie Fennell, Jake Jenkins, Hollis Jenkins, Haskell Jenkins and one nephew, Robert Jenkins.

Olene is survived by her children: Tammy Robertson and companion, Michael Smallwood of Ben Lomond, Ark.; daughter-in-law, Shelia Adams of Valliant, Okla.; five grandchildren: Danielle Powell and husband, Broz, Jason Pulliam and companion, Mandy Simmons, Brandy Adams, Samantha Wingfield and husband, Mathew, and Jonathan Adams and wife, Shawnte; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
