Body

Pamela Jean Corbitt Stapleton, of Hugo Okla., was welcomed into Heaven on Nov. 28, 2021. Pam was born on June 30, 1946 in Whitewright, Texas, to JD and Lois Corbitt. She married Mike Stapleton on March 19, 1965, in Hugo, and was blessed with 53 years of marriage.

Pam worked as a purchasing agent for well over 20 years in Dallas, Texas. During this time Pam and Mike spent many years with the SDBA (Southern Drag Boat Association) where Pam served as SDBA Registrar. After leaving boat racing, Pam enjoyed her time on the riding lawn mower where she would have her “thinking time” as well as work on her tan. She loved arts and crafts and making decorations for holidays. She enjoyed watching her nieces/nephews and great-nieces/nephews grow up and attended as many sporting events they participated in as she could. Recently she joined several of her friends in what she called the Wednesday morning ladies breakfast group.

Pam was preceded in death by her parents, JD and Lois Corbitt; son, James Michael, Jr., and husband, James Michael Stapleton.

Pam is survived by her two sisters: Pat Shires and husband, Bob of Pottsboro, Texas, Jeannie Williams and husband, Gary of Lewisville, Texas; one brother, Jesse Corbitt and wife, Mari of Midlothian, Texas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, church family, and friends.

Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021 at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home, 216 E. Jackson, Hugo. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2021 Shoals Baptist Church, 1685 N. 4290 Rd., Hugo.
