Celebration of life services for Patsy Ruth Braudrick will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel with Pastor Chris Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Okla. Pat went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 23, 2021, in Hugo, at the age of 92.

Pat was born Oct. 26, 1928, the daughter of J. Coy and Ruth (Smith) Chafin in Paris, Texas. She married the love of her life, John Willard Braudrick in Hugo on Oct. 16, 1948. Pat lived in Hugo most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Pat retired from the education field after 44 years. Pat Braudrick was a prime force in the success of Hugo Public Schools. As an exemplary Administrative Assistant, she was most proficient at communications, a great people person, loved kids, and kept Simon Parker on time and on track (if anyone could!!) for years –– at the high school and, later, in Administration. High school students loved her so much they would beg to have a period off to be HER office assistant! If an unruly student was sent to the Principal’s office, they would often stop at her desk to spend “their time” there. She was such a hard worker, always pleasant, and the ultimate professional.

She was the “gatekeeper” for Simon Parker at the high school and what a daunting task that was!

She did it with ease, respect and efficiency. Pat was loved and appreciated by all who worked with her. She enjoyed reading novels and Christian encouragement books. Pat thoroughly enjoyed to travel with her son, Joe, to the Deep South United States and California, especially the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage, Mo. She enjoyed listening to and singing music; she was in the choir from age 16 to 78, the last member of the Hugo First Baptist Senior Adult Choir.

Pat is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Willard Braudrick; one brother, Billy T. Chafin.

Pat is survived by one son, Joe Braudrick of the home; nephews: John Hayden Chafin of Hugo, Matthew Scott Chafin of Taos, N.M., Terry Gene Braudrick and wife, Janey of Dallas, Texas, John Charles Ward and wife, Luanne (Uster) of Plano, Texas, Paul Allen Braudrick of Durant, Okla.; nieces: Cindy Lea Chafin of Hugo, Patricia Ann (Chafin) Stratton and husband, Brooks of Shady Springs, W.V., and Geni (Braudrick) Hutchings and husband, Joey of Durant, Okla.; sisters-in-law: Margaret Ann (Knox) Chafin of Hugo and Mickie (Braudrick) Hickenbottom and husband, Lewis of Hugo.

The family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.

Please come enjoy sandwiches, light refreshments, and fellowship before the celebration.
