Paula “Sharon” Marunde, age 75, of Blanchardville, Wis,, passed away on Jan. 19, 2022 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, Wis., with her children and love of her life by her side. She was born in Oklahoma City on Aug. 29, 1946, the youngest daughter of Cara E. and Mandy (Shults) Jones. She graduated from Boswell High School.

Sharon was a member of the USO where she met and later married the love of her life, a Navy man, Emil “Skip” Marunde on Dec. 29, 1965. They were proudly married for 56 years. She always said, “When a man makes your toes curl when he kisses you, you know he’s the one” –– 56 years later, her toes still curled.

Together they had four children: Katrina (Loren) Piotrowski, Emil Jr. (Sandra) Marunde, Eric (Rita) Marunde, and Amanda (Eric) Wagner.

Sharon was a faithful Christian who spoke to anyone who would listen about God. She enjoyed writing and directing Christmas programs and skits at church. She played tennis, bowled, arranged flowers for weddings, was an amazing cook, and was Miss Donut (USO) 1965.

Sharon loved attending sports and concerts for her grandchildren. She was so proud of each one of them: Kyle (Jessica) Piotrowski, Elizabeth Marunde, Sara Piotrowski, Anna Marunde, Madelynn Marunde, Caden Piotrowski, Elena Marunde, Trevor Wagner, Evelyn Marunde, Elyse Marunde, Blake Wagner and Coraline Wagner.

Helen Joyce Keith was not only her sister, but her best friend whom she loved very much.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Cara E. and Mandy Jones; her four brothers: Ernest, Leslie, Dewey and Sam Jones; and her brother-in-law, Kirk Keith.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, 2022 at Restland Cemetery in Boswell, Okla. Please dress in casual patriotic clothing.
