Royce Harold Robertson passed away on June 21, 2024, at the age of 74 in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Born in Boswell, Okla., Royce dedicated his life to serving others through his pastoral work and as an educator. Royce was a man who seamlessly blended the ruggedness of his cowboy upbringing with his scholarly pursuits. Described by those who knew him as a chameleon, he was as comfortable discussing complex issues as he was sharing simple, everyday moments. His moral and spiritual integrity were pillars of his existence. Royce was also known to be social and for his ability to connect with people from all walks of life.

Royce’s educational journey began at Boswell Elementary School and continued through Boswell High School and culminated with a degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. His passion for knowledge was evident in his career as he taught science, math and special needs classes. Moreover, Royce pastored multiple churches in the southwest states and in Maryland, touching many lives through his spiritual guidance.

As a man of deep faith, Royce was a member of Life Tabernacle of Moore, Okla., where he actively participated in the community and spiritual activities. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, reading and writing. Known as a grill master, Royce cherished time spent with family. Royce is survived by his loving wife, Nora Marlene Robertson of the home in Oklahoma City; his son, Joshua Robertson and wife, Laurie; daughters: Terah Avery and husband, Daniel and Mary Beth Evans and husband, Alan; his grandchildren: Joshlyn Russell and her husband, Austin, Kristyn Winters and her husband, Jake, Lauren Marshall and her husband, Adam, Natalie Avery, Ryan Evans, Macy Evans and greatgrandson, Jase Russell; siblings: James Robertson and Susan Bankhead; brother-in-law, Ronnie Todd; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Julie and Rocky Roxberry and many cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss him dearly. Royce is predeceased by his parents: Sterling Richard (Bud) Robertson and Doris Ruth (Obannon) Robertson; brother, Sterling Richard Robertson, Jr., and parents-in-law: Frankie and Lorene Todd.

Royce’s legacy of love, education and faith will be remembered by all who knew him, and his life exemplified a commitment to his family, his students and his congregation leaving a lasting impact that will be cherished and honored by his loved ones and the community.

A memorial is planned for 12 p.m. July 6, 2024 in the Boswell Nutrition Center in Boswell. Family and friends are invited to attend and say a few words.
