Graveside services for William Edward “Ed” Arthur, of Shawnee, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2023 at Corinne Cemetery.

William Edward “Ed” Arthur was born on Oct. 20, 1946 in Durant, Okla., the son of William Tiny Arthur and Zona Merlene (Jones) Arthur. He passed from this life on Dec. 29, 2022 in Shawnee, Okla., at the age of 76. Ed married the love of his life, Sherian Wilson on July 3, 1964 in Gainesville, Texas. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sherian Arthur; his parents, Bill and Zona Arthur; son, Blake Arthur; brothers: James Earnest Arthur and Robert Dale Arthur; sisters: LaDonna Sue, Lavada Mae and Loretta June.

Ed was known for being strong willed, but he had a determination to take care of his family and did a very good job of it. He took care of everything and everyone. Ed had many passions. He enjoyed riding and breaking horses, hunting, fishing and a loose slot machine. Ed loved being on his farm and working the land. He had a green thumb and loved to garden. In the later years, Ed became a fantastic cook. After retiring from 27 years of service at Scrivner, he started Arthur Trucking. Above all Ed loved his family. He will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him. Ed is survived by his son, Brett Arthur of Shawnee; daughter, Tamerlyn Arthur of Midwest City, Okla.; sister, Regina Graham and husband of Harrah, Okla.; four grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Pastor Rick Austin officiated the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
