Body

Wilma Dean Reed, 84, went to be with her Lord on Jan. 28, 2021 in Paris, Texas. She was born on Sept. 26, 1936 in Glenwood, Ark., to William Washington Johnson and Ella Pearl (Williams) Johnson.

Wilma loved to crochet, loved WMU and gardening. She was a faithful servant of the church who loved camping, fishing (but only from the bank), and she was the absolute best at cooking wild game. Wilma was known as many things, including church secretary and Frisco Association secretary, but most importantly, she was a faithful wife, mother and homemaker.

She had always said that even if one person through her life or in her death could come to Christ it was all worth it.

Wilma is preceded in death by her husband, of 61 years: Hershel Reed; parents: William and Ella Johnson; brother, Maurice Johnson; sister, Bernice Diggs; and grandson, Dustin Reid.

She is survived by her children: Aaron Reed and Vonda of Antlers, Okla., and LaDonna Reid and husband, Kenneth of Ft. Worth, Texas; grandchildren: David Reed and wife, Tammy of Springtown, Texas, Scott and Kanda Reed of Lufkin, Texas, Kenny Reid of Decatur, Texas, Caleb Reed and wife, Lacey Reid of Ft. Worth, Texas, and Hayley Drake and husband, Ben Drake of St. Paul, Minn.; great-grandchildren: Hannah Reed, Hayden Reed, Molly Reed, Colbie Reid and Lane Reid; as well as many extended family and friends.

Funeral serviceswere held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Antlers with the Rev. Aaron Reed officiating. Interment followed at Antlers City Cemetery.

Pallbearers included Scott Reed, Caleb Reid, Ben Drake, David Reed, Clarence Diggs, Robert Reed and Hayden Reed. Honorary Pallbearer: Ronnie Murphree.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Wilma’s name to Mission: Dignity, PO Box 819109, Dallas, TX.

Services have been entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service of Antlers, Okla.
