Funeral services for Dewayne Allensworth were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 25, 2021 at Faithway Baptist Church in Rufe, Okla.

Dewayne Allensworth, age 79, of Fort Towson, Okla., passed from this life on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Allensworth and Llowman (Cooper) Kittrell; a sister, Arvella Terrel and two brothers: Dale Allensworth and Jimmy Allensworth.

Dewayne Allensworth was born July 16, 1942 in Rufe, Okla., the son of James Allensworth and Llowman (Cooper) Kittrell. He was a 1961 graduate of Rattan High School. Dewayne proudly served his country in the Oklahoma Army National Guard. He married Carolyn Joplin on May 28, 1965 in Apple, Okla. The couple raised two children: Chad and Dana. Dewayne worked as a plan manager for many years with Martin Marietta Rock Quarry in Sawyer, Okla. He enjoyed playing baseball, hunting, fishing, playing dominoes and taking care of his cattle.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 56 years, Carolyn Allensworth; daughter, Dana Landreth and husband, Robin of Ringold, Okla.; son, Chad Allensworth and wife, Annette of Stigler, Okla.; grandchildren: Chase, Cord, Chaylee, Justin, Jessie, Drew, Trayden, Mitch, Chauncey, Waylon and Josie; great-grandchildren: Creed, Mace, Addison, Brantleigh, Collin, Ryan, Lilly, Avery, Hayden, Chacely, Ainsley, Briar, Spurlee, Rich and Lillie; brother, Dan Allensworth of Asher, Okla., along with many loved family and friends. Interment followed the service at Allensworth Family Cemetery in fort Towson, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
