John Thomas Staton, Jr.

Graveside service for John Thomas Staton, Jr. will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 2021 at the Springs Chapel Cemetery in Hugo, Okla., with Pastor Mike Mussett officiating. John passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021 in Hugo, at the age of 66.

John Thomas Staton, Jr. was born Dec. 17, 1954 in Hugo, Okla., to John Thomas and Marion Kaydene (Locke) Staton, Sr. He had moved back home to Hugo in 2005, after moving here from Fayetteville, N.C. John worked as a construction worker for Brown and Root Company. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, racing cars and working on anything with his hands.

John was preceded in death by his father; step-mother, Annette Staton; brother, Randy Bruce Staton; and a brother-in-law.

John is survived by his mother, Marion Kaydene Jordan; his wife, Evelyn Staton of Hugo; sisters: Margaret Loftin and husband of Messer, Okla., and Melissa Robinson of Hugo; brothers: Jason Staton and wife of Hugo, Bobby Jordan and wife of Houston, Texas, Dennis Staton and wife of Hugo and Albert Staton and wife of Hugo; daughter, Jade Lindley Brisbois whom he raised as his own; other relatives and a host of friends.

Services are under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
