Larry Wayne Sturm

Funeral services for Larry Wayne Sturm, of Sawyer, Okla., will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 19, 2021 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home. Larry passed away Nov. 13, 2021, at the age of 75.

Larry Wayne Sturm was born on Dec. 30, 1945, in Spring Valley, Ill., to Floyd and Hazel (Moats) Sturm. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Bill Sturm, Allan Sturm and Jack Sturm.

Larry married Kathy Burkham on July 30, 1980 in Shawnee, Okla., and they made their home in Pagosa Springs, Colo., for many years. He worked in the construction industry and operated heavy equipment most of his life. Larry loved tinkering on trucks, motorcycles and equipment. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed Harley motorcycles and had a love for classic cars and trucks. Larry was a wonderful, loving husband, father and papa. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Larry is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy; son, Joe Floyd Cody Sturm and wife, Brianne of Cheyenne, Wyo.; daughters: Shonda Sturm Phillips and husband, Steven of Antlers, Okla., and Cheri Sturm Newton and husband, Doug Newton of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; grandchildren: Shellbie Duncan, Gravin Carter, Miles Newton, Adrienne Newton, Konnar Sturm, Kainn Sturm, Cohann Sturm; great-grandchildren: Kinsey Duncan and Riggin Duncan; brothers: Floyd “Skeet” Sturm of Earlsboro, Okla., Terry Sturm of Kahoka, Mo., Bob Sturm of Argyle, Iowa, and Rick Sturm of Tecumseh, Okla.; sisters: Joyce Gates of Washington, Iowa, and Jeanne Rule of Keokuk, Iowa, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment will follow the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Bro. Johnny Corgill officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
