Graveside services for Poly Carpio Madrid will be held at Springs Chapel Cemetery at a later date with Colby Bryant officiating. Poly went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2022 in Albuquerque, N.M., at the age of 92.

Poly was born March 23, 1930, to Florencio and Florensita (Pera) Madrid in Albuquerque, N.M. Poly served in the US Army from 1948-1957 in Korea and Germany he was a 1st Class Sgt. He married the love of his life, Mary Kathryn Terry on Jan. 24, 1953. They moved to Hugo in 1977. Poly worked for Choctaw Memorial Hospital in the maintenance dept. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Poly’s backyard was important to him and he took great care of it and his garden. He loved animals, especially “Daisy.” He was a family man and

loved spending time with his family. Poly is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Kathryn Madrid; daughter, Doris Dykes; son-in-law, Greg Dykes; grandchildren: Nichol and Daniel Dykes.

Poly is survived by his children: Brenda Madrid of Texas, Paul Madrid and wife, Debbie of Hugo, Billy Madrid of Grant, Okla., Nancy Madrid of New Mexico; siblings: Flora Cortez, Sophie Lojato, Tevio Madrid, Isabell Madrid, Jackie Madrid all of New Mexico and Tony Madrid of Colorado; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
