Graveside services for Eva Jane Woodruff, fondly known as “Jane,” were held on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Okla., with Bro. Otis Cayton officiating. Jane went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020, in Sawyer, Okla., at the age of 80.

Eva Jane Woodruff was born Feb. 24, 1940 in Grant, Okla., to Donald and Bessie Taylor. She had lived in this area most of her life and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sawyer. Jane married Joe Woodruff in Paris, Texas, in 1957. Jane worked as a Registered Nurse at the Choctaw Memorial Hospital, where she worked most of her nursing career and then later at the Choctaw Nation Medical Clinic. She was the second woman in the state of Oklahoma to become certified as a Medical Surgical Nurse. She loved to work outside, especially planting flowers, working puzzles and sewing. Jane was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Mark Woodruff; brothers: Arnold Taylor and Deward Taylor; sisters: Lorene Linn, Katheryn Tucker and Marion Taylor.

Jane is survived by her husband, Joe of the home; son, Mike Woodruff of Sawyer; daughters: Cherrie Cochran of Sawyer and Crystal Roebuck of Fort Towson and seven grandchildren.

Services were under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
