Funeral services for Alberta Rudrow were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022 at the Mt. Olive Funeral Home in Hugo, Okla., with Father Todd officiating.

Alberta Cornelia Rudrow, age 81 of Hugo, passed away on Oct. 19, 2022 in her home surrounded by her family. Alberta Rudrow was born on Jan. 2, 1941 to Peter (Opa) and Maria (Moo) Brouwer in Holland. She arrived to America in 1953 and made Terra Ceia, Fla., her new home. Alberta was the first of her family to become a United States citizen on June 21, 1960. Alberta married the love of her life, Larry Rudrow on Feb. 11, 1961 in Palmetto, Fla. Alberta and Larry Rudrow moved from Florida to Oklahoma in 1976.

Alberta graduated from Palmetto High School in 1959. She worked at Manatee National Bank for many years and was a bookkeeper. Alberta graduated Kiamichi Area Vo-tech in 1984 from Practical Nursing class. She was an LVN at St. Joseph Hospital in Paris, Texas, for many years. Her love for others in her nursing career made her a great nurse. She was a loving, caring, compassionate wife, mother and grandmother. She always put everyone’s needs above her own. She was a very generous and giving person and donated to many charities and organizations. Alberta was a devoted Christian. Her faith was strong and loved to teach others about God. She enjoyed singing, music and being surrounded by family. She loved caring for all children, especially her grandchildren. She spent many hours helping her grandchildren with reading, writing and math. Her hobbies included sewing, gardening, cooking, reading, writing and studying the Bible. She treasured pictures, cards, letters and anything that family made for her.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Peter and Maria Brouwer; her siblings: Hank Brouwer, John Brouwer, Anna McDonald, Marius Brouwer; nephew, Joe McDonald, and niece, Michelle Regis; granddaughter, MaKayla Ludlow and greatgranddaughter, Myla Kay Whitefield. Alberta’s surviving brothers and sisters: Henry Brouwer, Peter Brouwer, Frans Brouwer, Nellie Greene, Maria Byers and Corrie Harmon. Larry and Alberta were blessed with eight children whom she referred to as her pride and joy: Tim and wife, Brenda Rudrow of Castle, Okla., David Rudrow of Kiowa, Okla., Diane and husband, Marty Hall of Luther, Okla., Larry Rudrow, Jr. and wife, Mary Rudrow of Humble, Texas, Patricia Rudrow of Boswell, Okla., Christina and husband, Jesse Ellis of Hugo, Rachel and husband, Corey Borton of Firestone, Colo., Rebecca and husband, Richard Ludlow of Hugo; grandchildren: Gary Rudrow, Stephanie and Jason Berkey, Johnathan and Kayla Rudrow, Brian and Clanci Hall, Sarah and Merit Whitefield, Vanessa Hall, Joshua and Chelsea Hall, Catherine, Emily and Veronica Rudrow, Alexius Wallace, Cameron Head, Tyler and Kelsey Burton, Sierra and Iggy Hernandez, Tatum Gonzales, Kaydence Head, Hayden, Kendall, and Harper Borton, Jesse Ludlow, Taryn, Noah and Caleb Joe, Dakota and Cayden Ellis; great-grandchildren: Rose and Emerick Whitefield, Lillian and Autumn Hall, Collin Boyd, Kasen Burton, Roper and Kaybri Rudrow, Aiden Berkey, and three arriving soon.
