Funeral services for Arthur Boyd Freeman, of Hugo, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. July 16, 2024 at Unity Baptist Church. Arthur passed away July 11, 2024, at the age of 76.

Arthur Boyd Freeman was born on June 22, 1948 in Erick, Okla., the son of Joseph “Bud” Ira Freeman and Esther Mae (Dickerson) Freeman. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cynthia Freeman; wife, Faye Freeman; wife, Barbara Gayle (Slaton) Freeman and wife, Judy Kay (Conley) Freeman; brother, Billy Dean Freeman and sisters: Brenda Rout and Vicki Freeman.

Arthur was a longtime resident of Hugo and taught maintenance at Kiamichi Technology Center for 31 years. He loved to pass on his knowledge of maintenance to the next generation. Arthur loved cutting trees, collecting marbles and being the Hugo Handyman. He enjoyed fishing, had a passion for trot lining and loved his truck with loud pipes. Arthur was a Deacon at Unity Baptist Church in Hugo and loved the Lord. He also liked helping others and was always someone you could count on. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them. Arthur will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Arthur is survived by his daughters: Arthea Tempel of Buckhorn, Okla., LaRinda Vaughan of Poteau, Okla., and Wanda Freeman; son, Arthur B. Freeman, Jr.; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild, and sister, Joyce Moler, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Springs Chapel Cemetery, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
