Barbara “Milner” Grant passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Oct. 30, 2020 after a brief illness. She was born on Oct. 11, 1942 in Greenville, Miss., to the late James Elmer and Lucy Bluebell (Milner) Barnett then returned home to Swink, Okla.

She was part of the class of 1960 at Valliant High School in Valliant, Okla., where she was active in sports, drama and was known far and wide for her beautiful singing abilities.

She worked extensively in marketing and sales advertisements for local newspapers and radio. She was passionate about Oklahoma history and worked for many years to help restore and protect the rich history of the Wheelock Academy for the Choctaw Nation of which she was a proud member. In later years, she most enjoyed working with her late husband, Bill Grant as they promoted Bluegrass music and Oklahoma tourism.

Barbara is survived by son, Russ Earnhart and wife, Monica of Waxahachie, Texas; daughter, Amy Patrick and husband, Harry of Sulphur Springs, Texas; grandsons: Gavin and Evan Patrick; and granddaughter, AnnaBeth Rose Patrick. She leaves ingrained in her family a moral compass to live by; to always be honest, love family and friends and honor God.
