Funeral services for Charles Douglas House, of Valliant, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022 at Assembly of God Church in Valliant. Charles passed away Oct. 20, 2022, at the age of 72.

Charles Douglas House was born on July 7, 1950 in Hugo, Okla., to Cliff House and Boodie Jo (Oakes) House. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda House Allen and brother-in-law, Don Allen.

Charles grew up in Soper, Okla., and spent the last 30 years residing in the Valliant area. He proudly served his country and was a Vietnam War Combat Veteran for the U.S. Navy. Charles received The Bronze Star for his meritorious service. He was also a proud member of the Choctaw Nation Veteran’s and he made sure he and his brother, along with their cousins, attended the Choctaw Nation Veteran’s Day Program in Tushkahoma yearly. Charles married the love of his life, Faye Moss on Dec. 7, 1973 in Hugo. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and was a 32nd Degree Freemason of the Masonic Lodge of Idabel, Okla. Charles attended The Assembly of God in Valliant. Charles’ greatest pleasure was being a daddy and a papa. He was a hard worker and a member of The Disaster Team First Responder for AT&T, retiring after 40 years. Charles enjoyed watching football and his favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the Oklahoma Sooners. He was a kind, genuine man who cared deeply for his family and those around him. Charles will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Charles leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife, Faye House of Valliant; daughters: Keri Emery of Plano, Texas, and Kelli House of Garvin, Okla.; grandchildren: Kyle Emery of Frisco, Colo., Hannah Richard of Garvin and Connor Richard of Stillwater, Okla.; brothers: Tommy House and wife, Linda of Soper and Gary House and wife, Janet of Soper; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, along with a host of other friends, family and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Valliant Cemetery with Bro. Scotty Stuart and Jody House officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
