Charles Kenneth Cody

Graveside services for Charles Kenneth Cody, fondly known as “Kenneth,” were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Dalias Dickson officiating. Kenneth went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2021, in Hugo, Okla., at the age of 83.

Charles Kenneth Cody was born Aug. 21, 1937, the son of Rufus and Katie (Lane) Cody in Fort Towson, Okla. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Rhodes in Hugo, on Dec. 31, 1957, where they made their home. Kenneth worked as a welder. He enjoyed fishing, especially crappie fishing and being outdoors. He is preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Cody and Katie Lane and three siblings: Bonnie Clifton, Clarence Cody and Harold Cody.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Dorothy Cody of the home; son, Bobby Cody and wife, Debbie of Hugo; daughter, Jami Broekema and husband, Jack of Jacksonville, Fla.; nine grandchildren: Lindsey Wright of Valliant, Okla., Krystle Cody of Shakopee, Minn., Tyler Cody and wife, Bailey of Hugo, Wesley Cody and wife, Dallas of Lampasas, Texas, Emma Webster of Jacksonville, Fla., Olivia Webster of Jacksonville, Fla., Gavin Broekema of Chicago, Ill., Reagan Broekema of Chicago, Ill., Jackson Broekema of Jacksonville, Fla.; six great-grandchildren.

Services were under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
