Funeral services for Charles Wyndol Fry, of McKinney, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. March 11, 2022 at First Baptist Church of Hugo. Wyndol passed away March 5, 2022, at the age of 80.

Charles Wyndol Fry was born on July 23, 1941, the son of Charles Albert Fry and Anna Bee (Johnson) Fry. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Larry Wayne Fry.

Wyndol was a graduate of Hugo High School, Class of 1959. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and after his return from service in 1960, he enrolled in Southeastern Oklahoma University and earned his Bachelor’s Degree. In 1972 he received his Vocational Certification in Trade and Industry from Oklahoma State University and went on to receive his Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling from SOSU, his School Administrator Certification from Oklahoma University and his Superintendent Certification from Tulsa University. Wyndol proudly returned to his Alma Mater, Hugo High where he served as a vocational carpentry teacher, principal, and finally assistant superintendent. He spent 25 years serving the district he proudly grew up in.

On Sept. 10, 1994, he married the love of his life, Janet Williams. They made their home together in McKinney, Texas, where Wyndol began his work in Texas as Assistant Superintendent of McKinney ISD. He spent nine years dedicated to thoughtfully growing the district. Of his many accomplishments, one he was most proud of was being hands-on in the planning and development of the first sustainable school, Roy Lee Walker Elementary. This award-winning school jumpstarted his career and led to the development of Wyndol Fry Consulting –– through this firm he oversaw new bond construction projects for Melissa ISD, Paris ISD, McKinney ISD and numerous other school construction projects.

Wyndol was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at camp with his friends and family. He also enjoyed building model trains and airplanes. His greatest love was his family, and they cherished the time they spent together. Wyndol was a member of Stepping Stones Church in McKinney, Texas, and of the Baptist faith. Wyndol’s passing has left a huge void in the lives of his family. He was an amazing father, grandfather, husband and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Wyndol is survived by his wife, Janet Fry; son, Drake Fry and wife, Sasha of Hugo, Okla.; daughters: Kim (Fry) Bolding and husband, Harrell of Russellville, Ark., Courtney Currie and husband, James of McKinney, Texas, and Reagan Veazey of Gresham, Ore.; grandchildren: Amanda Gage, Kortney Kain, Taylor Fry, Hunter Fry, Morgan Fry, William Currie and Patrick Currie; great-grandchildren: Cayden Nassar, Jayda Kain, Keelan Yazel, Isiah Wiggins and Preston Cook; twin brother, Lyndol Fry and wife, Carolyn of Hugo, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment will follow the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo with Dr. Jeff Nyberg officiating. He will be assisted by Bro. Kenneth Brown and Bro. Doug McClure, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
