Charlsie Dean Hamilton

Charlsie Dean Hamilton, of Valliant, Okla., passed away May 30, 2024, at the age of 94.

Charlsie Dean (Brantley) Hamilton was born on Sept. 21, 1929 in Odem, Texas, the daughter of Charlie and Lela (Harman) Brantley. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Thommy Eugene Ward; a granddaughter; four brothers and two sisters.

Charlsie grew up in California and later moved with her family to Valliant in 2012. She worked as a nurse’s aide until her retirement. Charlsie loved cooking, especially for her family. She also enjoyed reading and attending church at First Baptist Church in Valliant, where she had been a member for several years. Charlsie will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Charlsie is survived by her daughter, Shirley Schwemley of Valliant; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild; brother, Joe Brantley of Idaho; along with a host of other friends and loved ones.

Interment was held at Grant Cemetery, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
