David Shugart

Funeral services for David Wayne Shugart were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2022 at the Riverside Unity Church in Soper, Okla., with Pastor Tim Harless officiating and burial following at the Sugar Creek Cemetery in Soper.

David was born June 10, 1963, in Plainview, Texas, to Elvin C. and Alma Nell (Allen) Shugart. He had lived in this area since 1978 and was a member of the Riverside Unity Church. David worked in maintenance for Kiamichi Technology Center in Hugo. He also worked as a bus driver for the Hugo School Systems. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being with this family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Elvin C. Shugart; his brothers: Randy C. Shugart and Gary Glenn Shugart.

David is survived by his wife, Lynn Ann Shugart of the home; his children: Brandy Cheshier of Sherman, Texas, and Dustin Franks of Duncan, Okla.; his mother, Alma Nell Shugart; sister-inlaw, Debbie Shugart; grandson, Michael Wayne Costillo.

Services were under the direction of Mt. Olive Funeral Home.
