Funeral services for Delbert “Del” Henry Trapp, of Hugo, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Aug. 16, 2021 at Oak Grove Baptist Church.

On Thursday afternoon, Aug. 12, 2021, Delbert Trapp went home to be with his Lord Jesus, at the age of 78. Del had health problems for some time. He was born in Gilbert, Ariz., on Dec. 12, 1942 to Marshall and Maudie (Skidmore) Trapp. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Most of Del’s early years were spent in Odessa, Texas. He was saved as a teenager and on April 4, 1982, he was baptized at Clayton Avenue Baptist Church, along with his daughter, Tracy and son, Chad. Del worked on the new building at Clayton Avenue Baptist Church and later helped during construction of Shoals Baptist. He taught men’s Sunday school classes at Clayton Avenue Baptist Church and later taught at Shoals Baptist Church.

Del worked for 10 years for the Frisco Railroad and Burlington Northern. He spent his last work years at Western Farmers Electric Coop. Upon his retirement he worked with Nailbenders on various church projects around the Frisco Association of churches.

Del is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Jim; daughter, Tracy Kidwell and husband, Josh of Edmond, Okla.; son, Chad Trapp and wife, Donna of Hugo; seven grandchildren: Emily Kidwell, Katie Trapp, Ian Kidwell, Allison Kidwell, Avery Kidwell, Samantha Trapp and Erin Kidwell; older brother, W.D. Trapp and wife, Mary of Campbell, Texas; younger sister, Peggy Wilkins of Pearland, Texas; several nieces and great-nieces and nephews, along with a host of other friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo with Bro. Kyle Cummings officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
