Service of remembrance for Dwain Brown, fondly known as “Brownie,” will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2021 at Victory Life Church with Pastor Gabriel Miller officiating. Brownie went to be with the Lord surrounded by his family on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2021, at his home in Hugo, Okla., at the age of 81.

Charlie Dwain Brown was born July 29, 1940, the son of Charlie Van and Francis Louise (Jenkins) Brown in Putnam, Texas. He married the love of his life, Bonnie Joyce Walker in Cisco, Texas, on Feb. 27, 1960. Brownie moved to this area about 60 years ago and worked as a cattle rancher. He also worked for the Co-op spreading fertilizer and at Cattleman’s in Paris as the gate operator. His favorite thing to do was boss people around. He enjoyed singing but he treasured spending time with his family. Brownie is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Louise Brown; grandson, Toby Brown; granddaughter, Kaelyn Brown.

Brownie is survived by his wife, Bonnie Brown of the home; two sons: Todd Brown of Mesquite, Texas, and Traig Brown of Hugo; one daughter, Jeanna Dale and husband, Guy of Hugo; brother, Harold Brown of Brady, Texas; sister, Peggy Wood of San Angelo, Texas; grandchildren: Tyler Brown and wife, Jacksie, Megan Johnson and husband, Jerret, Amanda Miller and husband, Gabriel, Tosha Everett and husband, Aaron, Dustin Dale and wife, Andrea; great-grandchildren: Cole, Clay and Cazley Johnson, Hadley, Rylan, Kamdon, and Emeri Miller, Judah, Lincoln and Foster Dale, Ashton Brown, and Blakeleigh, Tember, Tucker, and Jasie Brown; adopted grandchildren: Tyler and Jennifer Teague-Brown, Dean Cororran-Brown and a host of others.
