Eugene (Gene) Louis Packard, Jr. passed away Aug. 4, 2022, at the age of 83 in Wichita, Kan. There was a memorial celebration for immediate family on

Aug. 6, 2022.

Gene is survived by his wife, Linda Leff Packard; son, Bret Packard and wife, Lori of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter, Cindy Kraft and husband, Mike and three grandchildren: Melissa, Brandon and Ryan, all of Wichita, Kan.; sister, Marilyn Gavan and husband, Kenneth and family from O’Fallon, Mo.

Eugene was born March 15, 1939 in Kansas City, Mo., to Eugene Packard, Sr. and Ruth Jones Packard. He lived his childhood in Kansas City, Mo. He went to Southwest High School in Kansas City and studied at Kansas City University (now UMKC). Gene served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1961, received his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., later serving as an Air Traffic Controller in West Germany. He married Linda Leff on June 15, 1963 in Kansas City, Mo. He loved spending time with family and especially watching his grandchildren grow into young adults. Gene enjoyed his retirement, especially helping friends with their computer issues.

Eugene was a former Branch Manager of GAB Business Services from 1964-1983. In early 1983, he started Packard Claims Services and retired in 2001.
