Funeral services for Eva Jolene (Maxwell) Saxon, of Hugo, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. July 15, 2024 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home. Eva passed away July 11, 2024, at the age of 80.

Eva Jolene (Maxwell) Saxon was born on Dec. 4, 1943 in Boswell, Okla., the daughter of Edgar D. Maxwell and Cleo (Hasty) Maxwell. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Douglas L. Saxon; sons: Donald Kelley and Kenneth Kelley; four grandchildren; a great-grandchild and brothers: Edgar Eugene Maxwell, Edwin Leon Maxwell, Elbert Lee Maxwell and Eddie Arnold Maxwell.

Jolene had lived in Hugo since 1980 and was a homemaker, she had a passion for taking care of her family and home. She was a member of the VFW where she contributed her time and talents, lifting the spirits of those around her. Jolene loved playing marbles, games and crafting with her family and friends. She also enjoyed going fishing and playing at the casino anytime anyone wanted to take her, and she loved to joke around. Above all else, Jolene loved her family and spending time with them. While the loss of Jolene leaves a void in the lives of her family and friends, the memories she created will continue to bring comfort and smiles to those who were fortunate enough to know her. Jolene is survived by her children: Billy Kelley and spouse of Sobol, Okla., James Kelley of Hugo, Renita Green and partner of Hugo and Jackie Broach and partner of Hugo; two daughters-inlaw; 14 grandchildren; 24 greatgrandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brothers: G.W. Collins and Ronnie Lynn Maxwell; sisters: Ellen Darlene Tedder, Jennifer Elizabeth Maxwell, Eunice Kay Brown, Edith Diane Maxwell, Judy Maxwell and Margaret Linda Drinnon, along with numerous nieces and nephews, family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Restland Cemetery with Erwin Tedder officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
