Funeral services for Gladys Coffey will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Hugo with the Rev. Doug McClure and Pastor Randy Mayfield officiating. Burial will follow at Restland Cemetery in Boswell, Okla. Gladys passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, in Hugo, Okla., at the age of 83.

Gladys Coffey was born Nov. 2, 1939, the daughter of Floyd and Olive (Woolbert) Jones in Farris, Okla. She married Joe Coffey on June 2, 1957 in Boswell. They shared 65 years of marriage together. Gladys enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cake decorating, going bowling and camping. She really loved her grandbabies and great-grandbabies. There is an ongoing battle among children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren over who is her favorite.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marie Franklin.

Gladys is survived by her husband, Joe Coffey of the home; children: Ken Coffey and wife, Tammy of Sawyer, Okla., Cindy Herman and husband, Bryan of Tulsa, Okla., Floyd Coffey and wife, Angelia of Hugo and Cheryl Coffey Stanfield of Hugo; brother, Jerry Jones of Charlestown, Ind.; sisters: Audra Love of Boswell and Ora Lee Hall of Durant, Okla.; grandchildren: Brianna Arnold and husband, David of Claremore, Okla., Christina Barrington and husband, Austin of Sand Springs, Okla., Kendall Coffey and fiance, Jonathan Daniels of Sheridan, Wyo., Erin Shufeldt and husband, Michael of Hugo, Jordan Coffey of NYC, N.Y., Kirby Hughes and husband, Mat of OKC, Okla., Colton Coffey and wife, Faith of Durant, Okla., Tiffany Grimm and husband, Noah of Quinlan, Texas; 15 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel.
