Proud US Army Master Sergeant (Retired) Please join our family and friends to celebrate the life of my father Henry Hopkins, who passed away on Dec. 12, 2022, at the age of 91. We invite you to attend a brief service at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022 in remembrance and singing of favorite hymns at the First Baptist Church, led by Pastor Jim Gentry at 600 6th Street, Boswell, OK 74727. Immediately following a Military Honor Guard presentation will be held at the Pavilion Rest Land Cemetery, Boswell. Henry is survived by his daughter, Marlena Hopkins; stepdaughter, Linda Wilkerson; grandsons: Gary W. Jones III, David B. Jones, Joseph Steven Hopkins; great-granddaughter, Sydney Alexandra Campbell; great-grandson, Brazos Steven Hopkins; great-great-grandson, Leo David Curtis Bryant.

Henry was a proud son of Oklahoma who returned home to Boswell, Okla., after serving 20 years in the Army. Henry traveled to 26 countries and served two tours in Vietnam serving his country with honor and receiving multiple awards and accommodations including two Bronze Stars for Bravery serving in the Vietnam Conflict. My dad was a wellloved single father to me and my brother, Steven Hopkins. Henry never met a stranger and taught me by example how important it was to serve others. Henry was an avid gardener and raised chickens until late in his 80s –– a hobby he loved to share with his community. He was an enthusiastic volunteer with the VFW and served the community as a Judge and City Council Member multiple times over the 50-plus years he lived in Boswell.

Arrangements are under the direction of Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home.
