Celebration of life services for Hettie Harris were held at 11 am Wednesday, Dec. 14th, 2022, at the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hugo, Okla., with Larry Stevenson and Kyle Cummings officiating. Burial followed at the Baken Family Cemetery in Valliant. Okla. Hettie went to be with the lord on Friday, Dec. 9, 2022, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 63. Hettie Harris was born Oct. 28, 1959, to Farrell and Ruth (Jones) Harris, in Talihina Okla. She had lived in this area most of her life and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Hettie graduated from Southeastern University with a Master’s Degree in education. Education was very important to her and thought everyone should have the opportunity for a good education. She worked as a social worker for Eastern Oklahoma Youth Services. She enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts and her favorite holiday was Christmas, for which she had a special Christmas hat. Hettie was a devout and dedicated Christian to her Lord Jesus Christ. She loved going to church, teaching her Sunday school class and helping with Vacation Bible School. Hettie was a mighty prayer warrior and loved her church family very much, they meant the world to her.

Hettie was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Connie Harris; brothers: Farrell (Bubba) Harris, Jr. and Joe Harris.

Hettie is survived by Debbie and Mickey Benjamin and family of Hugo, John and Linda Higginbotham of Hugo, Britni Watson and family of Edmond, Okla., Nadine Davis of Hugo, Braylee Daniel of Fort Towson, Okla., Issac Jacob of Valliant; several aunts and uncles, numerous cousins, Laura May and L.K. Johnson family, special friends, Class of 1978 at Bennington Public Schools, Ron and Carol McKee and Gay Crocker Munsell.
