James Cameron Elliott, of Hugo, Okla., passed away Feb. 6, 2023, at the age of 71.

James Cameron Elliott was born on Jan. 28, 1952 in Hugo, Okla., the son of Jim Elliott and June (Estes) Elliott. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Randy Elliott.

Cameron grew up in Soper, Okla., and married his beloved wife, Janie “Lavonne” (Skipper) Elliott on Aug. 8, 1976 in Paris, Texas. He was a Drilling Supervisor for more than 20 years in the Permian Basin, returning to Hugo where he and Lavonne have lived for the past 30 years. Cameron enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved to run around with his grandkids on 4-wheelers. He was a hard worker and an excellent provider for his family. Cameron enjoyed hosting pool parties and barbequing for everyone. Above everything else he loved his family, especially his grandkids who were the center of his life. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Cameron is survived by his beloved wife, Lavonne; daughter, Christy Armes and husband of Hugo; son, Jaime Underwood and wife of Antlers, Okla.; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; sisters: Dale Burton and husband of Soper, Okla., and Linda Wells of Durant, Okla., along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Feb. 9, 2023 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Hugo.

Services are under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
