Juanita Marie Christian

Funeral services for Juanita Marie Christian, of Hugo, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. Aug. 3, 2021 at Kent Baptist Church in Hugo. Juanita passed away July 29, 2021, at the age of 99.

Juanita Marie Christian was born on May 30, 1922, in Rogers, Ark., to Spencer and Mary Frances (Trew) Watkins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stephen “JR” Harless Christian, Jr. and brothers: Leonard Watkins and Raymond Watkins.

Juanita and her husband, JR were longtime residents of Midland, Texas, where she worked as a supervisor in charge of the mail room at Western State Bank for many years. They spent time in the oilfields and traveled all around Old Mexico and the United States. In 1986, they moved to the Hugo area where they both enjoyed being outdoors and raising cattle. Juanita was a longtime member of Kent Baptist Church. She loved the Lord and enjoyed going to church and attended as often as she was able to go. Juanita also enjoyed quilting and crafted many beautiful quilts throughout the years. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Juanita is survived by her daughters: Linda Vos and spouse, Nelton of Midland, Texas, and Cindy Christian and spouse, Eddie Audas of Antlers, Okla.; grandchildren: Stephen Robinson, Scott Robinson, Roper Cross, Tomi Jo Holiday, Jason Audas, Nikki Christian and Ella Marie Ward; eight great-grandchildren and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Sugar Creek Cemetery in Soper with Bro. Larry Minchey officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
