Lavada Johnson

Funeral services for Lavada Johnson will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023 at the South Central District Building. Lavada passed away June 21, 2023, at home, at the age of 92.

Lavada was born March 11, 1931. She loved to garden and care for children. She was the mother of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, where the Rev. Carlton Mitchell, Sr., is pastor.

Surviving relatives include: daughters: Betty Johnson, Sally Shaw, Fayreen Beaver, Patricia Johnson, Daisy Johnson, Delois Johnson; sons: Raymond Young, Floyd Johnson, Curtis Johnson, Daniel Johnson; sisters: Mary Lee Cumby, Eva May Garrett, Virginia Frazier, Vivan Young, Lola McEwan, Ann Drake, Marshal Young, Lois Young, Roise Dawson; brother, Robert Young.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2023 at Rogan Funeral Home.

Interment will follow the service at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Sam Cumby officiating, under the direction of Rogan Funeral Home.
