Funeral services for Loyd Wayne Trantham, of Fort Towson, Okla., will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 14, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Hugo. Loyd passed away Oct. 9, 2021, at the age of 77.

Loyd Wayne Trantham was born on Nov. 27, 1943, in Hugo, Okla., to Floyd and Juanita Crain Trantham. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Carol Trantham, Allen Trantham and Kenny Trantham; sisters: Gloria Obert, Janita Ann Smith, Florella Hendrix and Joyce Trantham.

Wayne was a proud Veteran of the United States Army and was honorably discharged on Dec. 3,1968 as a Sargent. He married the love of his life, Lee Anne Green on Sept. 10, 1971 in Boswell, Okla., making their home in Hugo then later moving to Fort Towson where they have resided for more than 20 years. Wayne enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He never met a stranger and en joyed “shooting the bull.” He especially enjoyed talking about old trucks. Wayne worked as a security officer for Choctaw Housing Authority and as a Volunteer Fireman, Choctaw County Deputy and a Reserve Officer for the Hugo Police Department. Wayne will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Lee Anne; son, Johnathan Trantham of Fort Towson; daughter-in-law, Cassandra Trantham; daughter, April Autry of Hugo; grandchildren: Kimberly Trantham, Katelynn Fox, Madyson Fox, Candra Trantham, Suzie Trantham and Rowdy Butler; brothers: Earl Trantham of Tulsa, Okla., and Michael Trantham of Hugo, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment will follow the service at Restland Cemetery in Boswell with OHP Chaplain Sam Garner and Dr. Danny Mills officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
