Funeral services for Marcia Warren McClure, of Hugo, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 24, 2021 at First Baptist Church of Hugo. Marcia passed away Sept. 19, 2021, at the age of 69.

Marcia Warren McClure was born on May 11, 1952 in Columbus, Ga., to George “Buddy” and Nell (Albrecht) Fry. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marilyn Dubois.

Marcia was raised in Columbus, Ga. She graduated Columbus High School in 1970, then went on to the University of Georgia and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Accounting. She was a Georgia Bulldog through and through. If her beloved Dawgs were playing, she was watching, and you best stay out of her way. Marcia surrendered her life to Jesus Christ in the summer of 1979. Her heart was evangelism and wanted everyone to know her Jesus. She worked at First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Ga., for the pastor of Evangelism, and was a part of starting Evangelism Explosion.

On Nov. 11, 1984, Marcia married the love of her life, Robb McClure. Together they built Robb’s Flowers of the Fields and blessed many homes and businesses in the Atlanta area for 35 years. Even through brain tumors and leukemia, Marcia and Robb’s love for each other and Jesus Christ was very evident in their lives. In July of 2012, Robb and Marcia moved to Hugo, Okla., and were soon involved in the church and community. They taught first and second grade Sunday School together, where the children loved them. She was active in Team Kids and Women’s Missionary Union. Her love of the thrift stores in town brought many friends into her life.

Due to medical disabilities, Marcia went to live at the Baptist Village in Hugo in April of 2017. She was the “baby” to the ladies who tended to her needs every day. Even when she was bossy, as she was well known for, they loved her. The family deeply appreciates the love and attention the friends at the Village poured out to her.

Marcia was one to ask a million questions but the most important one that she would ask….”Do you know Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior?”

Marcia is survived by her husband, Robb McClure; brother, George Warren “Bud” Fry, Jr. and wife of Columbus, Ga.; sister, Melinda Fry Thomas of Jefferson, Ga., along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Bro. Doug McClure officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
