Mark Henry Cannon passed away on Nov. 12, 2022 at home surrounded by his family. He was 71 years old.

Mark was born on Oct. 17, 1951 in Hugo, Okla., to Henry and Betty Jean Cannon. He attended and graduated from Hugo High School in 1969. He attended Eastern Oklahoma State College for two years before enlisting in the Army Reserve. He then attended the University of Oklahoma where he was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Mary Jane Jeffrey on Nov. 23, 1973. The couple lived in Hugo where they raised three children. Mark was very active with Lions Club and worked for Oklahoma Farm Bureau for many years and that took the family to Shawnee in 1998. Mark also began investing in rental properties and enjoyed working and helping the families who rented from him. Mark enjoyed hunting, golf, traveling, cheering on the Oklahoma Sooners, taking sunset cruises at Shawnee Lake, serving at church, spending time with friends and especially being with his family. He is preceded in death by his mother and father; sisters: Aileen Parnell and Jeanean Weaver and brother, Jeffrey Bond Cannon.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Cannon; mother, Faye Cannon; sister, Cande Cannon; children: John and Stacey Cannon, Carrie and Neil Conklin, and Jeff and Katie Cannon; grandchildren who were the light of his life: Lexi Wong, Nathan Wong, Mya Wong, Abbey Cannon, Carson Cannon, Cole Cannon, Aidan Conklin and Ava Conklin.

Services for Mark Cannon will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2022 at Life Church in Shawnee, Okla. The church is located at 5113 N. Harrison St. in Shawnee.
